Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you work with?

I work with clients ages 13 and up in California and Ontario. I especially enjoy supporting neurodivergent clients, LGBTQ+ clients, people navigating burnout, and those exploring identity, belonging, masking, creativity, and self-understanding.

Are sessions online or in person?

All sessions are currently offered online through secure telehealth for clients in Ontario and California, where I am registered/licensed to practice. Because telehealth rules depend on where you are physically located during session, I’ll ask you to confirm your current location at the start of each appointment. This helps me practice responsibly and make sure we have a plan for safety or emergency support if needed. I also ask that you attend sessions from a private, comfortable space where you can speak freely.

How much do sessions cost?

Sessions are 50 minutes and cost $150 per session. For clients in the United States, fees are charged in USD. For clients in Canada, the same fees are charged in CAD. I also offer a free 15-minute discovery call to help us decide whether working together feels like a good fit. A limited number of sliding scale spots may be available.

Do you take insurance?

I do not currently accept insurance and am private pay only. Superbills are available upon request for clients who would like to seek possible reimbursement from their insurance provider.

What is therapy with you like?

My style is organic, collaborative, and conversational. I do not believe therapy needs to feel cold, overly clinical, or like someone is trying to shove your soul into a worksheet. I tend to move at the pace of the relationship, listening closely, reflecting patterns, asking thoughtful questions, and gently challenging when enough trust has been built.

Who might not be a good fit for your practice?

My practice is not the best fit for high-crisis needs, court-mandated therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, active eating disorders requiring specialized care, or substance use concerns that need a higher level of support. If your needs fall outside my scope, I will do my best to point you toward more appropriate care. My practice is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent support, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. If you are in Canada, you can call or text 988. If you are in the United States, call or text 988.

How private is therapy?

Therapy is confidential, with specific legal and ethical limits, including situations involving risk of serious harm, child protection concerns, court orders/subpoenas, or regulatory/legal requirements.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment. The full session fee may be charged for late cancellations or missed appointments.

How do I start?

You can start by sending me an email through the contact form. From there, we can schedule a free 15-minute discovery call by video to briefly talk about what you are looking for and whether working together feels like a good fit.
